Established a century ago, in 1914, Colorado Christian University is an interdenominational Christian university with over 5,000 students and is located in the city of Lakewood. The university used to be known as the Denver Bible Institute, but when the college decided to expand upon degrees offered, the name underwent a few changes. It wasn’t until 1989 that the school would pick up its modern name. The campus sits in a picturesque area in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains and is around 10 miles west of Denver. There are also several learning centers located around the state that provide education for graduate-level study.

BS – Health Science

Regis University

Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions

Once known as Regis College, Regis University defines itself as a private, co-educational Roman Catholic university run by the Jesuits. There are 28 such universities within the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and Regis is located in Denver. The university routinely ranks highly on the listing of best colleges in the United States by “U.S. News & World Report.” The college was originally established by a group of Jesuits who had been exiled from Italy. Interestingly, the college was first based out of Las Vegas and was named Las Vegas College. A few years later, the Bishop of Denver invited the founders to Denver to create a new college, which would become Regis University.

Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management

Regis describes Health Information Management as a degree that requires swift thinking and actions to ensure that patients get the best healthcare possible. The government’s mandate regarding electronic health information means that the profession is a swiftly growing one and will need many educated degree holders in the next several years to fill vacancies. The Health Information Management program at Regis offers students a curriculum that features instruction on many vital areas of managerial, technical, and consultative roles that a student might fill upon graduation. Students who graduate and earn a degree may take the test to become credentialed through the Registered Health Information Administrator exam.

University of Colorado – Denver

Business School

Established a little over a century ago, the University of Colorado at Denver is a public university and is part of the University of Colorado educational system. The school has two campuses and was once two different schools as recently as 2004. The university has almost 30,000 students and is the largest research college in Colorado. The school receives significant investment for research grants with over $375 million in grants issued each year. There are also more graduate degrees offered at the school than at any other college in the state. The university serves the residents of Denver with a substantial hospital and medical center.

MS in Health Administration

Calling the work “dynamic” the University of Colorado suggests that a Health Administration degree offers the basic concepts needed to work within a complex and active industry, which is on a period of substantial growth. University of Northern Colorado

College of Natural & Health Sciences

The University of Colorado saw its first students in the late 1880s when it was established as the State Normal School of Colorado. As a former teacher’s college, the school has a strong background of education and offers more than 100 different programs leading to undergraduate degrees. In addition, the school has around 50 different graduate degrees available. There are around 12,000 students studying at the University of Northern Colorado and on a campus that stretches across 250 acres in the city of Greeley. Most of the programs offered by the college are influenced heavily by traditional liberal arts education and students also have the opportunity to study at satellite campuses around the state in cities like Loveland, Denver, and Colorado Springs.

Human Services B.S.

Students receive a varied curriculum by entering into this Health Sciences program and students are eligible to work in many different healthcare environments after graduation. The Human Services degree also makes it easy for students to transition into a program for study at the graduate level. The classes required for this major include classes featured in a traditional liberal arts education as well as information on working in a modern healthcare environment. One of the best parts of this program is the opportunity to engage in field work and obtain real-world experience during the education process. Places where students may work after graduation include voluntary health agencies, local and state health departments, and patient education within hospitals or other healthcare settings.
